| 1938 | Born 16th of June 1938 in Huittinen, Finland. |
| 1958 | Spring exhibition of the artists' association and later same year a final breakthrough in the Exhibition of the Young in Helsinki |
| 1960 | Finishes studies at Raahe and becomes primary school teacher. |
| 1961 | Travels to Rome, where he is influenced by works of Italian Futurists Giacomo Balla and Gino Severini. Studies Mark Rothko´s use of colour, which changes his whole conception of colour. |
| 1963 | Receives first prize in Turku City painting competition with a figure composition in gouache. |
| 1965 | Wins first price in Turku City painting competition again, the first time for any artist to have won twice. The work is Through Grey, an abstract composition with clear and defined lines. |
| 1966 | The first international exhibition with four other artists at Scandinavian Biennale of Young Artists in Copenhagen. |
| 1967 | The first mirror works. Experimenting with mirror collage and various combinations of mirrors and paintings. |
| 1970's | Creates spatial and urban impressions with layers of mirrors, plexiglass and glass. The names of the pieces reflect this tendency. Experiments at the same time with different sculpture techniques. New themes arise; nature and water. Starts using new materials: brass and steel. |
| 1974 | An exhibition hall "Pirkanpohja" is opened next to the artist´s lodgings. |
| 1975 | Gives up his position as principal and becomes a full-time artist with a five-year-grant from the state of Finland. Many exhibitions abroad, in Paris, Copenhagen, Madrid and Norway. Receives exceptionally warm reviews and has constantly exhibitions in Denmark. |

1976 | First prize in an invitation competition for a fountain for Palosaari market square in Vaasa, Finland. This wishing well for UNICEF was named Seawind for UNICEF and inaugurated by Danny Kaye in 1979. |
| 1988 | 50 year-exhibition in Sweden and Finland for 3 years, with 50 works - paintings, sculptures and drawings. |
| 1990's | Experimenting with aluminium in reliefs and makes bronze sculptures. Water is the central element in all works. |
| 1999 | 60 year-exhibition in the Jyväskylä Art Museum. |
| 1999 | Exhibition "Reflections" at the Didrichsen Art Museum in Helsinki. |
