Sari Bremer dives deep and flies highWith the tension between the sharp and the expressive, the depth and height of scales, Sari Bremer creates moods ranging from cool to burning, scary to harmonious.Aerial perspective can take you to a meticulously pictured secret island or the root of a volcano. A diver in the depths of the ocean, above a romantic shipwreck, floating between ameobas and groups of fish. Something fast and strange is happening on a high cliff. Fear flashes like in the best of thrillers. Emotions are telling, depictions explosive and detailed. Technically Sari Bremerīs pictures spring from tradition - aquatints, etchings and drawing-skill. Bremerīs pictorial readiness is good, anything from cold water to burning fire is acceptable to her. The carefully created details of her works get a counterbalance from informal expressive forms, which shimmer in the picture-space. Expressiveness takes these images far and from there they dive deep. Sari Bremer received the Didrichsen Art Foundation Pro-Arte price in 2003, which also included a possibility for her own exhibition at the museum. A well-earned attention for a young and talented artist. Kuutti Lavonen Sari Bremer has been studying at the Academy of Fine Arts in Helsinki with Kuutti Lavonen as her teacher |
