The museum is closed during exhibition change. We will open again on Wednesday 8th February with the exhibition Juho Rissanen – Childhood Memory.

Extended opening hours during the last weekend
Now is the last chance to see Lionel Smit’s work in Finland – the exhibition Faces of Identity will be on display until January 29, 2017.
On Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th January the museum will be open from 10 am to 6 pm.
The museum will be closed during exhibition change 30.1.-7.2.2017. Coming soon: Juho Rissanen – Childhood Memory.
Art and coffee on January 6th – Free entrance!
The museum is open from 11 am to 6 pm. Free entrance. Coffee tasting by Arvid Nordquist from 12 pm to 5 pm. – coffee can also be purchased at the museum shop, a part of the funds will be donated to the African Wildlife Foundation and their elephant protection work.
The event is part of a project coordinated by the Museum Association of Finland. It will start the celebrations of the centenary of Finland’s independence in 2017.

We are open during the holiday season, from Boxing Day 26th December onwards. Free entrance to the museum from 26th December 2016 until 1st January 2017! The museum is open from 11 am until 6 pm.
The museum will remain closed 23.-25.12.2016. On New Year’s Eve we will close already at 3 pm.

Meet Lionel Smit 10.-11.9.
Lionel Smit will be at the Didrichsen Art Museum on Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th September from 12 pm until 3 pm. The South African artist will talk about his work and the current exhibition, sign books and answer questions. Come and see the new exhibition and say hi to the artist!

The Night of the Arts, 25th August 2016
The Night of the Arts will be celebrated at the Didrichsen Art Museum on August 25th from 5 pm to 9 pm. Free entrance! Music, performances and street food.
Free entrance also to our neighbour museum, Villa Gyllenberg.
Cruises in Summer 2016
The Didrichsen Art Museum is now reachable by boat from the Market Square. Discover the beautiful archipelago of Helsinki on the way to Kuusisaari Island, where the museum is located. It’s a great way to experience the museum and its surroundings – a combination of art, architecture and nature.
There will be transport from the Market Square to the museum and back every Saturday from 18th June until 20th August.

Free entrance to the museum on Helsinki Day, Sunday 12th of June from 11 am to 5 pm. Music and street food on the terrace, guided tours (in Finnish). You can also reach the museum by ferry from the Market Square!
