KUUTTI LAVONEN DISCUSSES ANNIVERSARY ARTWORKS ON 14 SEPTEMBER 2025
Artist Kuutti Lavonen has created two series of original prints to celebrate Didrichsen's 60-year history. A series of 60 prints has been made of both designs.
On Sunday, 14 September, starting at 1 pm, Lavonen will talk about the works and their creation process at the museum.
The discussion will be in Finnish.

ART CRUISE SAT 9 AUGUST
Join an art cruise from the Sinebrychoff Art Museum to the Didrichsen Art Museum. Experience the current exhibitions of both museums with guided tours and relax in the atmosphere of maritime Helsinki on a boat trip.
Starting at the Sinebrychoff Art Museum, Bulevardi 40. Please inform your guide when you arrive.
Programme for the day
10.30–11.20 Guided tour of the Classical Heroes exhibition (in Finnish).
There's also time for a self-guided tour of the exhibition, home museum and museum shop.
12.00 A walk led by your guide from the front door of the museum to the ship (distance 1,4 kilometers).
12.30 Boat trip on board the JT-line’s ship Ruoholahdenranta–Kuusisaari. Enjoy the maritime landscapes and snacks on board. Snacks comes from the Southpark restaurant and are included in the ticket price. Possibility to buy refreshments.
13.45 Guided tour to the Modern! exhibition, Didrichsen Art Museum (in Finnish).
After the tour, you can stay in the museum on your own.
The programme ends at the Didrichsen Art Museum, which is open until 6 pm.

The price includes entrance to the museums, guided tours, the boat trip Ruoholahdenranta-Kuusisaari and snacks. The snacks include stuffed bread and blueberry pie. Please mention about a possible special diet when buying a ticket.

Accessibility
The day's program is not barrier-free. It is a 1,4 kilometer walk from the Sinebrychoff Art Museum to the ship. You have to get on and off the ship via stairs, and the movement spaces on the ship are small. From the dock of the Didrichsen Art Museum, there is a steep climb up the stairs to the museum building.
Public transport
From Kuusisaari you can get to Munkkiniemi or Otaniemi from the bus stop at Didrichsen Art Museum with buses 510 and 52. From there you can continue your journey by metro or tram. We can also recommend a city bike. There is a city bike stop at the beginning of the Kuusisaarenpolku.

FREE ADMISSION AND A PAINTING WORKSHOP THU 10 JUNE
Painting workshop from 1pm to 3pm with artist Marita Liulia in the museum's seaside park (weather permitting). Bring your own painting supplies! No need to register for the workshop.

HELSINKI DAY 12.6.2025
Welcome to join us in celebrating Helsinki Day on Thursday 12 June at the Didrichsen Art Museum!
The museum's 60th anniversary exhibition Modern! opens at 1 pm and admission is free from 1 pm to 6 pm. On Helsinki Day visitors will also have the first opportunity to see a new sculpture by Italian sculptor Lorenzo Quinn in the museum's sculpture park. The sculpture honours the legacy of the museum's founders Marie-Louise and Gunnar Didrichsen.
