GRAIN – ANTREI HARTIKAINEN
17.10.2025–25.1.2026

The Didrichsen Art Museum awarded the Pro Arte 2025 prize for a young artist to master carpenter, designer and artist Antrei Hartikainen. Established in 2003, the prize, now awarded for the fifth time, is given to a young, promising artist. The solo exhibition that is included in the award, is part of the Didrichsen Art Museum’s 60th anniversary programme.

Antrei Hartikainen (b. 1991) was born in Outokumpu and lives and works in Fiskars. He is known for his sculptural wood and glass works. Hartikainen’s everyday objects and artworks work emphasise craftsmanship and understanding of the materials. His sculptural artworks, made in wood and glass, challenge the boundaries between design and art. Hartikainen is interested in the interplay between nature and the built environment. The artworks in the exhibition Grain draw on observations of nature, the relationship between people and the environment, and the properties of materials. They explore growth, transformation, and sustainability expressed through renewal. The exhibition invites viewers to connect with their surroundings.
