Sculptor Arvo Siikamäki (1943–2026) rose to prominence in the late 1960s with his bronze and aluminium sculptures, which often addressed experiences of being an outsider and the destruction of both the individual and the environment in a chaotic era. Over time, the defining characteristic of Siikamäki’s sculptural practice became the search for pure form and the liberation of form captured within the material.

The exhibition, produced in collaboration between Didrichsen Art Museum and the artist, presents key works from Siikamäki’s sevendecade career as a sculptor. The works in the exhibition are from The Didrichsen Art Museum’s collection as well as from Finnish
public and private collections.
