MODERN!
12.6.–28.9.2025

The Didrichsen Art Museum’s 60th Anniversary Exhibition presents key works from the museum’s collection of both Finnish and international modernists, ranging from Helene Schjerfbeck to Wassily Kandinsky. These are complemented by carefully selected pieces from the collections of the Didrichsens’ contemporaries, including loans from the Sara Hildén Art Museum, Villa Mairea, Villa Gyllenberg, and the Kirpilä Art Collection. The works enter into dialogue with the Didrichsen collection, highlighting the vital role of private collections in bringing modern art to the public.

The exhibition also highlights the special relationship between the Didrichsens and Henry Moore. Moore played a significant role in the formation of the museum’s international collection, and the exhibition features a sculpture on loan from the Henry Moore Foundation. The jubilee exhibition pays tribute to the long-term and visionary efforts of Marie-Louise and Gunnar Didrichsen in promoting art and culture.

We hope that our museum will become a home for all things beautiful, and that it will bring as much joy to its visitors as it has brought to us.

Marie-Louise & Gunnar Didrichsen, 1968
